Goals: Reestablish a sustainable, community-driven awards initiative that garners a positive reputation and builds a sense of fun in the playing card community focused on poker decks and building to a live event. Provide meaningful giveaways for audience participation and recognition for artists Break off from Portfolio 52 into a new, separate entity that acknowledges the legacy in an appropriate but non-hindering manner. Get committee members to pull their own weight FFS for ONCE in their LIVES ugh.

The goal of this is to establish a system independent from and not relying on a database like P52, with an easy setup to transfer ownership to other passionate community members if passion wanes from the current committee. People are always welcome to create other award events, but the thought here is that a lot of effort has gone into maintaining this current trajectory of DOTY and it would be counter productive to start a-new or spawn a new initiative in any such case of turnover.
