Jan 15, 2025 — It was decided to offer a downloadable PDF “offline” ballot for people to fill out and email to us as an alternative if the vote page form isn’t working. China has many network restrictions that block access to resources we’ve employed on the site, like Google APIs are essential for form functionality. So this is a fail safe to stay as inclusive as possible. Passed 600 votes.

Jan 14, 2025 — YouTube Channel created @thedotyawards and livestream verification approved. Can create a scheduled event if needed. Will embed on the site here and direct people to that page.

Jan 13, 2025 — 4 new giveaway sponsors added. Reached 50 prizes.

Jan 12, 2025 — Website vote page had 2600 unique visitors, and ended the day with 350 votes submitted. Finished with sponsor and nominee contacting.

Jan 11, 2025 — Pushed the Nominations + Voting page live at 4pm EST. A few kinks to iron out but relatively smooth launch. As many nominees as could be tracked down received either DM on Insta or emails alerting them of their nomination and link to generic promo graphics in the Nomination Station.

Jan 8, 2025 — Added a page for giveaway sponsors, Im including a CTA on this one in case others want to jump in as we promote. Emails will go to academy@dotyawards.org and a spreadsheet I set up here. I am not doing that for Artist Awards, that should remain invite only.

Jan 6, 2025 — The sponsors for the Artist Awards have been shared. Missing from the official award structure is the offer from RoomOne, which will be made available as an opt-in option for every nominee (on the Nominee page and in the email we send).

Jan 5, 2025 — We started finalizing our 10 picks for each category and started collecting images for nominees to be used in the vote. Please see the “Image Hunting” section. Sponsor materials will be sent tomorrow to Award sponsors. We’re also committing to advertising the start of the vote as the 11th on Instagram.

Jan 4, 2025 — Categories page added. Phase 2 will have pop ups for info and voting criteria (“what makes a good ace”), if any of you want to help with those definitions let me know. Phase 3 will possibly morph into the voting page.

Jan 3, 2025 — Working on Sponsor Zone to house materials to give to sponsors to help promote. Please double check the award accuracy. We are waiting on one sponsor, and moving the RoomOne gift for every nominee to an opt-in opportunity to accompany their official Nomination communication.

Jan 2, 2025 — Sponsor page added. Phase 2 will have pop ups and most likely the rest of the community prize sponsors.

Jan 1, 2025 — I’ve gone through the public recommendations (we had 135 submissions!) to see the trending favorites. I started compiling the takeaways (and deleting duplicates) in a new tab in the sheet. However much you consider these community lists helpful, please use the “Public Submissions” tab to influence your thinking for your own lists.
